Who Is Valpak of Denver & Tom Sark?
|
History Of Valpak
Valpak was established in 1968 by entrepreneur Terry Loebel who used a $500 investment to mail a local
cooperative envelope containing 14 coupons to 20,000 households in Clearwater, Fla. The first Valpak
distributorship was established in Orlando, Fla., in 1972. In 1986, Loebel sold Valpak Direct Marketing
Systems, Inc., to Prudential Capital, which operated the company for the next five years and launched
the franchising program in 1988.
Cox Enterprises, Inc., purchased Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, Inc., in 1991, forming Cox Target
Media, Inc., a subsidiary of Cox Newspapers. In 2002, a re-branding campaign and regionally
coordinated, monthly mailing schedule further positioned CTM and Valpak as a results-driven marketing
company that offers advertisers full-service, targeted direct-marketing solutions and support services.
In 2007 the new 470,000 square-foot Valpak Manufacturing Center opened in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Featuring almost 10 acres of manufacturing and office space under one roof, the facility showcases
some of the world's most advanced systems in printing, collation, warehousing, material movement and
mail distribution. The project cost of more than $200 million represents one of the largest single capital
investments in the history of Cox Newspapers.
